Use eBay to Make Money Online

Desember 10th, 2009 by skhodijah27

eBay was probably the first way many people tried to make money online. It is still a worthy way to do so. Here are some tips to do so without even having anything physical to sell.

Many people have discovered that selling e-books and reports are a great way to earn money. eBay is well known as an online marketplace. People are learning to search there for information they need.

Some people are making ready money buying products with private label rights or resale rights. Private label rights mean the buyer can revise the work in any way he or she wishes or even sell it as is under his or her own name. Resale rights mean the buyer can sell the product but cannot make any changes to it or claim it as his or her own work.

These products contain information that people want and need. For example, there are countless e-books showing people easy ways to lose weight or, yes, how to make money using eBay. Often these products are available for just a few dollars.

People who buy these e-books use the information themselves and make arrangements to sell the product themselves. While they only earn a few dollars for each sell, by heavily promoting the book, it is possible to generate large numbers of sales, thus bringing in a sizeable income.

In order to make money this way, it is best to start with a quality product that offers information people can really use and are interested in buying. Once you find such a product there are countless tips and techniques you can use to encourage sales.

Selling e-books and information products on eBay is an excellent way to make money. You don’t have an inventory to worry about. Payments are all handled online. By offering a quality information product, you can readily earn a steady income on eBay.

What Sells on EBay? How to Uncover What’s Selling on EBay Right Now!

Nopember 29th, 2009 by skhodijah27

Have you’ve ever wondered what really sells on ebay? Are you tired of tracking down web sites that promise to tell you what sells on ebay but end up to be nothing more then loop farms for Google ads?

Why You Should Read this Article:

One of the most consistently asked question online has been (ever since it’s founding): what sells on ebay? If you would really like to know once and for all what is selling on ebay, at any given time, then this article is for you!

I intend to lead you to the information you seek. And, the answer to what sells on ebay won’t cost you a dime! No “eBook” or “eReport” to purchase. No “eCourses” or videos, CDs, or expensive software. Not that any of that is necessarily bad, it’s just my system won’t cost you anything. And yet it will give you a complete, CURRENT, picture of what is selling on ebay right now, today.

A Decade of Thinking:

I’ve been thinking of and working on this question of what sells on ebay since 1998. I started out wanting to understand what all the fuss was about. There hasn’t been a day gone by within the last decade that this question hasn’t occupied my mind.

Everything Sells on Ebay: But when?

“What sells on eBay?” The answer most often given is, everything sells on ebay. And to an extent that is true. JUST ABOUT everything does sell on ebay. You’ll find empty soup cans and human souls being sold on ebay! Often times however, the answer is incomplete. More often then not, the answer has been copied from other sources. It doesn’t come from first-hand experience. It seldom is adjusted for seasonal changes. And new product trends can go by unnoticed. My free software will change that for you. It will put this information right at your fingertips.

Questions You Should Ask:

People ask me what are the best sellers on eBay and when I mention a few items the most common reaction is, “I might have known.” The truth is, the best sellers on ebay are the same best sellers we find in local stores .. DVDs, electronics, jewelry, dolls, toys, antiques, collector items, etc. You can pretty much see this simply by looking at the categories on ebay. But the real questions you need answered are:

(1) What niches are hot right now?
(2) What specific items within those niches are selling.. today?

And “today” is the keyword here.

Trend Watching to Uncover What’s Selling on Ebay:

You need to be a trend watcher as much as an investigator to uncover the truth behind the question of what is selling on ebay at any given time. There’s a lot of old, misleading information that just seems to hang in limbo on the Internet. And while historical records can be helpful it’s much more useful to see for yourself what’s hot in real time. By planning to study the ebay marketplace regularly you can piece together several niches that work for you no matter the season. When one niche becomes cold and falls out of favor for awhile you can adjust to a hot niche to keep your profits rolling in.

Avoid Out-of-Date Information:

Few web sites or eBooks can give you an up-to-the-minute accounting of what is selling on ebay. Much of the information you find online is actually years old. In other words, it’s useless to you now. But somehow this old data just hangs on taking up space like yesterday’s newspaper. Only the Search Engines haven’t caught on and keep feeding it to the top of the search.

No Need for Expensive Software:

Of course, if you have the money, you can buy research software from Hammertap or Terapeak. These programs give you lots of information, at a price. But, isn’t the idea of selling on ebay to make money? These programs are fine for the established ebay seller with lots of auctions. But when you’re just starting out, or you only sell occasionally, you don’t want to be burden with the expense of these programs.

Putting the Puzzle Together:

The best way to see what is selling on ebay right now is to look at lots of auctions in progress. Note the items, the price and most important, the number of bids. You need to know if people are interested in the product and this is clearly revealed by the number of bids. While price is important it is less important at this stage then the number of bids. All too often people approach this backwards. First determine if there is a demand, then determine if there’s a profit. Why waste valuable time pursuing items that have little or no public demand?

Determining a profit goes hand-in-hand with determining a source. All are important pieces of the puzzle but it begins with demand.

Looking at lots of Auctions:

If you go to ebay to look at auction listings you could spend hours looking through them and waste a great deal of time trying to determine a niche you’d like to explore. Even eBay’s own tools can waste a lot of your time. Ebay Pulse is a great place to start but without a system to scan for the most desirable items you’ll end up wasting time.

I’ve applied my system to all of eBay Pulse to give you the greatest DAILY overview of eBay Pulse that you’ll find anywhere online. My free software allows you to search deep within the layers of eBay Pulse… and more! Categories and subcategories have been (or will soon be) broken down into individual software packages.

Search Dozens of Auctions Quickly to Uncover Real Gems:

Now you can search through dozens of auctions in various categories very quickly. My software will help you to uncover profitable niches and track developing trends. By scanning RSS feeds.. active, live, current, RSS feeds from eBay.. for items receiving two or more bids this totally free software will save you both time and money. What sells on ebay? The hottest products in the most in-demand niches. Now, uncover exactly what those gems are by taking the first step and download my free eBook, “What Sells On eBay? User’s Guide,” that explains my software in detail. Both the eBook and the software are absolutely free.

eBay Dropshipping - Should You Use Dropshipping For Your eBay Business?

Nopember 19th, 2009 by skhodijah27

There are many things to consider when deciding weather to use eBay dropshipping or not. Let’s go ahead and take a look at four very important points about eBay dropshipping.

Do Extensive Research

If you plan on doing business using eBay dropshipping, you need to make sure you are aware of all of the pros and cons before you dive in. This will, in the end however, allow you to reach your goals and success levels you strive for.

Where Are Your Profits Coming From

You are billed by the droppshipper, on average, around half of the retail price you sold something for. For example, if you sold a watch to someone for $200, an average of $100 will be paid to the dropshipper. This is because they have to label, package and mail your items to the customers. But even then, you are still profiting from the transaction.

Additional Costs

Unfortunately, using eBay dropshipping wont allow you to keep even half of the retail price. This is due to other expenses like eBay fees and shipping costs to mail the labels to the dropshipper so they ca attach them to the boxes. And another cost is for advertising, since it is up to you to attract new shoppers.

It Really Can Work Well

It is a time and money consuming effort, especially in the beginning. eBay dropshipping is a great tool for you to use. Of course it can turn out one of two ways. A poorly managed idea gone wrong, or a smooth running oiled machine that runs efficiently.

Whatever the case may be, hopefully your thoughts about dropshipping have been broadened.

Nopember 12th, 2009 by skhodijah27

It might sound far-fetched but you can definitely make money selling on eBay selling items for others. Once you master the techniques involved, you can make a pretty good living with it. You might even decide to continue to make money selling on eBay instead of worrying with drop-shipping companies or selling your own products like you did before you found these techniques.

To be successful and to make money selling on eBay, you need to be aware of the following truths that are listed below.

1. Commission For New Customers

Customers you move to eBay auctions, such as the live auctions bring you a commission from eBay. If you bring a customer to eBay who signs up or makes a purchase on the site, you get paid for that through commissions.

The Partner Network on eBay is the easiest to use in promoting the products of others as it provides you the tools to sell for others. You can also add live eBay listings on your private website to make even more.

ebay Business Advice From Warren Buffett

Nopember 4th, 2009 by skhodijah27

Many people think that eBay is a virtual garage sales. But it’s really not. It’s a business, even though many people are viewing it as a hobby. Yes, it is true that in the beginning the majority of sellers on eBay were just people who sold their own private stuff that they didn’t want to use anymore. But eBay has really evolved since then. Today it is a multibillion-dollar business.

There are many sellers on eBay who started up with next to nothing and are now millionaires. But there are even more who started with next to nothing and still have next to nothing.

So what is the difference between these two groups of people?

The difference is that one group of people, the ones who are successful, treat eBay the way you treat a real business - because that is what it is. The other group of people, the ones who still have next to nothing, is treating eBay like a hobby - and hobbies don’t make money.

And when it comes to running a business, one man I like to turn to for advice is Warren Buffett.

He once said:

“I don’t look to jump over 7-foot bars: I look around for 1-foot bars that I can step over.”

Now what does that mean for your eBay business? It means that you have to do you market research before you decide what products you want to sell.

So many people make the mistake that when they just start on eBay they sell flatscreen TVs, or laptops, or iPhones. That’s like trying to jump over a 7-foot bar. It’s very difficult to enter these markets on eBay, because they’re highly competitive. And there are plenty of sellers in this category who are really buying wholesale - and I’m talking hundreds of thousands of dollars. And there is no way you can compete through drop shippers with those kinds of powersellers. And you probably can’t risk hundreds of thousands of dollars to import a couple of thousand laptops from Taiwan.

So what do you do instead? You look for that 1-foot bar that you can step over. You want to find the product on eBay that has a small but passionate group of buyers. You want to find a niche that allows you to enter the market, without stepping on the toes of the big eBay powersellers. You find a product that is a little bit too obscure, where there is very little competition, but high demand.

Another thing that Warren Buffett once said is:

“It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently.”

And this is really all about the way you treat your customers on eBay. With eBay’s feedback system, there is no way you can be successful if you don’t treat your customers very good. And that means that you treat even the occasional crazy customer very good. Because there are a lot of crazy customers on eBay. Believe me, I had my fair share of them. These are buyers completely unreasonable, and some are even outright liars. Always remain friendly and professional and give refunds. You want to build a good reputation, and every negative feedback you get is in the way of achieving that.

And now the final lesson of Warren Buffett that I want to share with you today:

“Wide diversification is only required when investors do not understand what they are doing.”

And this is also not just true for the stock market. As an eBay seller you want to specialize. You don’t want to sell all kinds of stuff. You want to cater to one market only. Be the scrap booking supplies girl, the fishing supplies guy, leather wallet lady or the motorcycle tire guy. But don’t be all things to all people. If you want to sell to several markets, do it with different eBay accounts. EBay actually allows you to own several eBay accounts. But my suggestion is find one market and specialize in that. This way you will know the trends, you will know the lingo, you will know what people like and what they don’t like and you can build a long-term reputation.

Be Sure to Use Your eBay Coupon Code

Oktober 29th, 2009 by skhodijah27

I was absolutely amazed when I used my first eBay coupon code to save money on one of my purchases. I put in the code and at checkout the savings were deducted from my purchase. Well you can just imagine my surprise when it did exactly what it said. There was no cost and no catch.

I decided if there was one eBay coupon code there would be tons of them out there. Well, now I found the catch. A great huge place like the internet and there just wasn’t that many of the codes to be found. If there was I sure wasn’t having any luck with them. I did manage to find a few outdated sites that had some but most were outdated and not usable.

Well I made it my mission to find some more of these codes. I was determined to find another eBay coupon code. I quickly found out that most of the ones you find have an expiry on them. So you either have to decide to use them or lose them forever. That wasn’t my problem. I knew if I could find them I would use them.

I got to work using my knowledge of keyword searching and slowly was able to dwindle away and find an eBay coupon code every other day. I was careful to bookmark the sites, even if they were terrible sites with almost all expired codes on them.

I wasn’t going to give up because first of all I am an avid eBay shopper so saving money while shopping eBay with an eBay coupon code for me was like a dream come true. The moment when I knew I was addicted was when I found a code that claimed would save me 250 dollars. I was really skeptical about this one but once it worked I knew I would never give up looking for that proverbial eBay coupon code.

With times all over the world being as tough as they are right now the eBay coupon code has become even more important. I buy most of my Christmas presents from eBay so you can bet I am online everyday watching all the new codes that come out. I’m sure it is just a matter of time until we see many of them or maybe none of them. You definitely don’t want to take a chance on not getting your share of the savings so be on the lookout for the eBay coupon code.

Easy Way to eBay Profits

Oktober 23rd, 2009 by skhodijah27

You probably have heard some of the many success stories that eBay sellers had. Someone who started selling her used clothes, and ended up becoming a major seller for clothing on eBay with tens of thousands of dollars in sales every single month.

These stories can be very uplifting and inspiring to read. It’s almost like a version of the American dream, except that it’s the eBay dream. Somebody who starts out with very little and becomes rich and successful.

If you want to create a successful eBay business too, my recommendation is that you do not think that it is going to be easy. Because quite frankly, in the more than seven years that I have been buying and selling on eBay I have not seen anyone become really successful by doing easy stuff. I have not seen even one lazy person become successful. I’ve seen lazy people get lucky every once in awhile, but that’s a big difference from building a successful business and making real money. The kind of money that can make a difference in your life.

But, I’ve also seen a lot of people who know very little about business become very successful just because they were willing to do the work it takes and to learn the things they had to learn. And I call these people serious players. Because they understand that building a business is not like shooting fish in a barrel. Even on eBay. It’s not rocket-science, but it’s not a ride in the park neither.

And I hate to break the news to you. Because I know that too many of the people who are selling eBay business opportunities are promising you easy profits. And I hope you use your common sense when you see these kinds of offers. Because so far, I have not seen even one that could live up to the big promise it made.

There are really a couple of sound methods and advanced strategies that work again and again and again. They have a proven track record building successful businesses. And they require very little start up capital.

eBay Market Research

Oktober 15th, 2009 by skhodijah27

To have a successful eBay online business one of the most important things you have to do is market research.

The are several ways to do market research, some are advanced, some are basic, some are free, some you got to pay for.

To be really successful you should use every one of these market research opportunities.

It’s better to know a little more about your market than you have to, than to know a little less about your market than you should.

In this article I want to introduce you to a simple and free method for doing market research on eBay.

In fact, it is so simple that it is often overlooked. And I highly encourage you to not overlook it, because it’s another piece in the puzzle of your online success.

I’m talking about the eBay WantItNow section. This really tells you what buyers want to buy. People post what they want to buy here, and every day there are thousands of posts.

This is a great way to get a feel for the market. To understand what products are in demand, but hard to find. (Those ones are golden opportunities for you as an eBay seller).

Now what you want to do is to look for WantItNow ads. If several dozen people are posting a wanted ad, looking for a specific thing, that is a very good indicator that you can make money by selling that.

If you haven’t yet decided on what market to enter, this is just another tool that will help you to decide which category is most likely to bring you quick profits.

If you already know what market you want to be in, or you already are selling in a certain market and want to continue selling in that market. The eBay WantItNow section is still very useful for you.

Because what you want to do is you want to subscribe to wanted ads in the categories that relate to your market. eBay actually allows you to do that. It’s almost like having a little market research robot that goes out every day to find those little profit gold mines, waiting to be exploited.

Another thing that you want to look for in these wanted ads is how many responses and ad gets.

The more responses an ad gets, the less interesting that item is for you.

Why is that? Isn’t it the case that the more responses a wanted ad gets the hotter the item is? In this case, no. Because the people who respond to the wanted ads are sellers that have that item available and are willing to sell it to the person.

But what you are looking for are items where there aren’t many sellers. Because few sellers means little competition.

Now I am not one of these people who say you have to find something that is not competitive. In fact, normally I encourage you to go into competitive markets, because it is a competitive because people are making money. It wouldn’t be competitive if people where not making money.

But in this case it’s different. Because the sole reason of you going through the eBay WantItNow section is finding products with high demand and little competition.

Cheap Ways to Promote Your eBay Home Business

Oktober 9th, 2009 by skhodijah27

When you are first starting out with a new home business on eBay, marketing can make the difference in whether or not you succeed. But money can be tight when you are just getting started, and even tighter if you’re a stay at home mom will little resources to spend. Marketing your eBay home business doesn’t have to be costly, however. With a little time and some effort, you can get your eBay business noticed without spending much money in the process.

Pay Per Click Advertising

Pay per click advertising is a popular method of advertising that only charges you when a potential buyer clicks on your link. Many different advertising agencies offer a form of pay per click advertising, but Google AdWords is perhaps the most well known. Google AdWords offers you a minimum of just $10 for and advertising campaign, and you get to choose the price you are willing to pay for specific keywords. They also walk you through every step of the process, so you have nothing to be confused about.

Banner Advertising

Banner advertising on websites that you frequent can be fairly inexpensive, as well. This type of advertising is usually paid for monthly, with some websites charging as little as $5 per month to put your advertisement in their rotation. Websites that you visit often, or that focus on the same type of items that your eBay store is offering, are the best websites to sign up for banner advertising with.

Paid Blog Posting

Some blog authors will take commission directly from you to post a blog about your eBay business on their website. The benefits of paying someone to write a blog post about your company are numerous. For starters, they don’t necessarily have to disclose that what they are typing is an advertisement, which means their visitors can view the blog as an endorsement of your website, rather than a marketing plot. Secondly, blogs have a tendency to pass around links to other websites that frequent them often, which means you can pay to have your business blogged about on one site, and end up having your eBay store linked on over a dozen websites. Not bad for one blog post!

Promote, Promote, Promote!

Add your eBay store link to the signature on any account that you have for forums. Every time you post, you will be passively sharing a link to your store, as well. You can also include your link at the bottom of every e-mail, post it on your MySpace or other social networking profile, and put a link in your instant messaging program’s profile. Anywhere that you can copy and paste your link, do it! The more exposure your business gets, the more sales you’ll stand to make. If you are a frequent poster on forums, social networking sites, or other online communities, it never hurts to pass around that you have your own home business going. Friends and family may stop by and make a purchase just to support you.
